Apartment Review for Casa De Oro Apartments - Corpus Christi, TX

Appliances are old, falling apart and some are non working. A few residents are using ice chest because their refrigerator/freezer does not work. There are two old elevators that are scarey to use. They make screachy noises and one or the other is out of order quite often. Building needs sandblasting (looks terrible from outside)and sidewalks, entrances and common areas need to be totally redone. All cement is either broken up or extreamly uneven. Very, very dangerous for the elderly living here and many fall because of this. 99% of residents either use a cane, walker or some type of wheelchair. Suppose to be 55 yrs. or older to live here but married children of maintaince workers have their own apts. and live here withtheir school age children. This is an eight story building with elderly, handicapped people living alone, in apts. on the eigth floor. This place has a history of fires. How are these people expected to get from the eigth floor down to the first floor if another fire/emergency should happen? Elevators are shut down during a fire and most elderly people cannot come down eight flights of stairs (especially in wheelchairs). Believe me.......you do NOT want to live at Casa de Oro Apts. At times water coming out of faucets is milky white. This water STAYS white (does not clearup).
