Apartment Review for Islander Village - Corpus Christi, TX

Beware of Islander Village! They claim to be for students and helpful to students, but all they do is lie! They will tell you that you "never go over electricity" but my roommates and I had about a $35 a month electricity bill (over the allotted kwh) and we kept our ac at 78 degrees and used our electricity sparingly! This is the party place for TAMUCC--the grounds are trashed, beer bottles everywhere, the breezeways in the apartments are dirty and stained, and the place is LOUD every night of the week!!! Residents speed through the parking lot so be careful if you're walking to your car! The office staff is rude and never seem to know what they are talking about. They seem to be more interested in hanging out with friends on the clock than on helping residents. If you rent here, take your own pictures when you move out because they "take pictures" when they do a walk-through but they have a set of pictures of a dirty apartment that they use if they don't actually walk through so you get charged more! This "gated community" is gated--but the gate is broken about every weekend, so anyone can drive in here. They tell you they will pro-rate your first month's rent but on move-in day they refuse to and make you pay the full month's rent but won't let you move in before the 15th of the month. They tell you one thing on the phone but do something totally different. Looks like a good deal, but its more hassle than its worth! DON'T RENT HERE...THEY ONLY TAKE COLLEGE STUDENT'S MONEY AND LIE!!!!
