Apartment Review for The Shores - Corpus Christi, TX

Security- is a big problem at the shores. I get notices on my door all the time about cars getting broken into. In the few years I have lived here at least two apartments have been broken into and my outgoing mail was stolen from their drop box. I had a police officer come to my door and show me six checks that I had written that were stolen from the drop box.

Parking is fine if you have a covered space. Although the roads and sidewalks need some work. Every time it rains I HAVE to step in a huge puddle to get out of my apartment.

Management, office and maintenance- One word: terrible. I have to ask several times to get anything done and then they act like they are so busy. Every time I walk in the office they are chatting it up. My air conditioner and refrigerator has been fixed several times. I dont think they every actually fixed it but just fix the right now problem. The air conditioner and refrigerator leak all the time. And they can never figure out why the refrigerator is leaking. When I have a problem I will call, write them a letter, and then call again later to make sure they are actually going to do something about my problem. If I didnt nothing would every get done.

Condition of the unit- I dont think my apartment was cleaned before I moved in. Everything was just dirty, except the walls. Because they probably painted over all the dirt. I have paint splatter around the edges of the carpet and bleach stains (obviously not from their cleaning people). The one good thing I can say about the actual unit is it is pretty big for how much I pay.

Noise level- Well its not so bad now but I called the cops all the time with one neighbor. If anyone is out on their balcony late, you can hear every word. The walls are thin too and I can hear the conversation of my neighbors.

Overall- The only good point the shores have is it is close to the university. And thats why these problems will never change because they will always have a new flow of students coming in every year.

I would absolutely NOT recommend the Shores Apartments to any of my friends. Not even the ones I dont like. It's that bad.
