Apartment Review for Wood River Apartments - Corpus Christi, TX

I have lived her almost all my life since I was 4 years old. I grew up there and moved out August 31, 2008. I left and came back two time, but came back home since it was my home for so many years. I loved living there at Wood River Apartments until BH Managment took over and the Manager. Since BH took over they have been money hungery trying to get as much money out of you and not putting it back into the apartmetns. However, do not get me wrong yes they have made improvements, but not to the back of the apartments. The apartments inside look real bad they will show you the apartmetn next to the office, but once you sign your lease you are in a shock when you see your apartment. The apartment is not as nice as you thought it was. The number 13 building has problem such as mold, when it rains make note that it will rain into your apartment as well. I have lived in the number 9, 5, 2, and 13 buildings. Number 9 the hot and cold water is switch around. I will also warn who is thinking about moving into the apartments people are diging in the trash and the office does not care and will not do anything about nor will they do anything about it. AC are horible in the apartments too they leak alot, but they can not fix it. The AC in the apartment we lived leaked every month. The mold is very very bad and they will not fix the problem. There is hardly any parking space to park in at night. Lighing is horibale. The apartments will charge a big fee to rent one of their washer and dryers if it is in the unit. However, if you decide not to keep the washer/dryer they will still charge a connection fee. There is also a pet fee once a month. Water fee. The charges on washer/dryer or just connections is just away to make more money. I have talled to other resadents they are not happy either they are ready for their lease to be up so they can get out. The people above me just moved out as well. The favorite words the manager likes to use is WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! She cannot fix the trash problem with people going through it nor anything else or there is nothing their like mold when you can see and smell it. I would not reccomend this place to anyone!!!!!!!! Like I have said before I have lived here all my life almost other then for 7 years moved out for 7 years then left again for a year and then came back. Nothing was home other then Wood River Apartments the managments before BH Managment took over were wonderful! BH Managment is in it to make as much money as possible. Also make sure if you pay a little before your rent is due make sure you keep up with it because they did not want to give us credict for it when we were a head. The assitent cannot figure out anything that deals with paying the rent so if she is the only one there you will not get any help. There are only two workers in the office at all times, so good luck when you can get them because sometime one will take off one week then next the other one will take off. I would reccomend just finding a place that you have to pay a little more in rent, but they will offer more things to the residents like a gatted community and nice conterable liveing. For the people who decided to move in Good Luck, but you will see what I am talking about afterwards. People at Wood River are seeing how unsafe Wood River is and how they are not handycap asseble like they say they are.
